            AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing Entrance Exam 2017

            All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi

            The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, is an autonomous institution that grants its own degrees. The organisation conducts entrance exams for various courses. One such exam is the AIIMS B.Sc Nursing Entrance Exam 2017, an entrance test for those seeking specialisation in nursing.


            At present, the nursing entrance exam evaluates students for two different nursing courses.

            • The B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) course: It is a two-years course and is available only at the New Delhi institute
            • The B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing course: It is a four-year course, and is offered at Jodhpur, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Rishikesh, Patna, Bhopal, apart from New Delhi.

            • Last date of online application- 25th April 2017
            • Last date of challan payment- 28th April 2017
            • B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing Entrance Exam (online exam only)- 14th June 2017 at all AIIMS
            • B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic) Entrance Exam (online exam only)- 20th June 2017 at New Delhi

            Eligibility Criteria

            For B.Sc (Hons) Nursing

            • Only female candidates can apply
            • Must be an Indian Citizen
            • Must be or will be 17 years old by 31st December 2016
            • Should have passed 10+2 curriculum or an equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, English, and Mathematics or Biology
            • Should have 55% ( 50% for SC/ST) or more in aggregate

            For B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

            • Should have passed 10+2 or an equivalent (for those who have completed 10+1 on or before 1986 may also apply)
            • Must have a Diploma in Midwifery and General Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council recognised institution
            • Must have a registration as a Nurse, Registered Midwife, Registered Nurse
            • Male nurses (for those who passed before 2003) must have a certificate in General Nursing and instead of Training in Midwifery, a 6-months training in any of the following:
            Leprosy Nursing
            TB Nursing
            Psychiatric Nursing
            O.T. Techniques
            Ophthalmic Nursing
            Neurosurgical and Neurological Nursing
            Cancer Nursing
            Community Health Nursing
            Orthopaedic Nursing

            Exam pattern

            For B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing

            • Admission will be on the basis of merit, considering the score in AIIMS entrance exam
            • The exam will be in English only
            • There will be one paper of two hours duration. The paper will be divided into four sections with multiple choice, objective type questions
            • The subjects to be considered and marks allocated in 100 would be:

            Physics - 30

            Chemistry - 30

            Biology - 30

            GK - 10

            For B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

            • Exam will be conducted in New Delhi and in English
            • Candidates will be evaluated under a two-stage performance

            Written Test of ninety minutes with seventy objective questions on Surgical Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Physiology and Pharmacology, Paediatric Nursing, Midwifery and Obstetrics Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing

            Interview of candidates selected on the basis of their scores in the written test. The marks will be awarded out of thirty while considering the records in 10+2 and nursing academic scores along with performance as a nurse also.

            Application Procedure

            • Register online at www.aiimsexams.org
            • Pay via credit/debit or challan as instructed in the website
            • Pay via challan must be submitted at any SBI branch
            • Application fees are: Rs. 1000 for General, OBC and Unreserved, Rs. 800 for SC/ST
            • Check the status of your admit card after a successful registration at www.aiims.edu and www.aiimsexams.org
            • If not available, write immediately to the Assistant Controller of Examinations, AIIMS, New Delhi. Offer details of your registration and send it via email
            • If available, download the admit card
            • Do not carry phones, calculators, diaries, inside the exam premises
            • Exam results will be available on www.aiimsexams.org
